Recognition Feels Damn Good

So I am looking at the textbook that I use to teach ENG 101: MODELS FOR WRITERS and thinking about how nice the new edition turned out this year. Then I remember that I was part of the review board and I wonder if they happened to say thanks anywhere...like a website, or small tiny print at the bottom of something. And the old familiar feeling came rolling back to see my name in their Acknowledgements. So cool! It's been a while.

So then I download a new book by one of my favorite indie authors (more on that soon) and there I see myself again-quoted! First! In the book itself! Pretty cool. I knew there was something I liked about recognition. In publishing it was something I never took for granted--and I still don't.

I'm also honored to have been asked for a cover endorsement from a fellow author, which I gladly provided and hope that my efforts will help her to promote the pants off her book-baby when it is hatched!

When you realize you haven't had as many kudos in so long, other than what you have created for yourself, in your own work, with your own passion-- it makes you really want to say thanks back when it comes your way. The kudos have been rolling in big-time and I feel like everything is working out just the way it should.

So THANKS to everyone who supports my endeavors. I never forget who got me where I am, and I am doing all I do for all of you.

Peace and Pages
Keri
